2024 Fair Housing Month: Chicago Area Fair Housing Alliance Opportunities

On April 11, 1968, the Fair Housing Act was signed into law. This act prohibited discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of housing and outlawed racially motivated block-busting and redlining practices. Today, the Fair Housing Act stands as a cornerstone of civil rights legislation. In honor of Fair Housing Month in April, the Chicago Area Fair Housing Alliance is offering the following event opportunities:
- 4/18: Toast to Housing Justice, the Housing Action's 8th Annual Benefit event.
- 4/20: Mi Casa Su Casa: First-Time Homebuyer Workshop, North Austin Branch Public Library, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- 4/22: Virtual Fair Housing Training, 11 a.m.
- 4/27: Walk/Roll the Redline, Saturday, April 27th, Twiggs Park in Evanston, 2 - 4:30 p.m.
- 4/29: Fair Housing Month Forum - Building Inclusive Communities, Monday, April 29th 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
